Netflix has a new alternative history anime on the way, Leviathan, and it has some incredibly strong talent behind it.Animation studio Orange is back with a brand new 3DCG series, Leviathan, an anime that’s actually based on the 2009 novel of the same name written by Scott Westerfield and illustrated by Keither Thompson. Both the series and the book is an alternate history version of World War 1, where the Central Powers, i.e. the German Empire, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria (known as Clankers in the book) use big mechs and war machines, as well as artificially made living creatures designed for battle to fight in war. Essentially, think World War 1, but steampunk.Leviathan | Official Teaser | Netflix Watch on YouTubeYou can check the first teaser trailer for the series…

Read moreIt’s sounding like Dragon Age: The Veilguard is going to be the complete package, as its director has said there aren’t any plans for DLC expansions. There are many things that in the years since gaming has moved to be more internet focused that are generally quite annoying, but I think even now, DLC is one of the highest ranking. What do you mean I have to spend even more money just to play some more story? Alright, let’s ignore for the second that I did exactly that with Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind (and how I also would have bought a Final Mix version of the game, which was also a ridiculous thing for Square Enix to do back in the day), because it’s still a bit of a wet fart when DLC completes a game. Read moreSilent Hill is going to be on most horror fan’s brains for the next month, obviously because of the fact the hotly anticipated remake of the second game in the series is due out in a week’s time. I can’t blame anyone, I’ll be thinking about it too, I love Silent Hill 2 – it’s a classic for good reason, and I’m curious to see what the wider consensus will be of its remake. Will people reflect on the original and think “we didn’t know how good we had it”? Maybe people will say Silent Hill 2 “was always bad, actually.” Me, though, I’ll be over here thinking, “OK, can we stop talking about 2 now and start talking about Silent Hill 4: The Room?”Compared to other fans, I arrived at Silent Hill a bit late, and I did things in the wrong order too. Back in 2020, during the peak of the first lockdow…

Read moreVariousThere are so many ways to be a Dungeons & Dragons fan these days. The tabletop RPG mainstay has been synonymous with pen-and-paper adventuring for 50 years now, and 2024 marks a major reworking of its core rulebooks to make the game more approachable. Anyone who’s played even just a couple of sessions knows how easy it can be to covet a friend’s set of custom dice, appreciate the care a Dungeon Master has taken in setting the right ambience for a crafted campaign, or even obsess over their choice of pen and notebook — after all, it’s what you’ll be spending a large chunk of time staring into as you ponder your character’s next heroic action. But what’s amazing is that you can be a huge D&D fan without ever touching a character sheet. D&D and the Forgotten R…

It’s not typical for this console to receive any kind of discount, so we’re usually skeptical that there’s something amiss when one pops up, like an iffy warranty, or that it isn’t the U.S. version, which includes a different power adapter. However, there are no strings attached; you’re just getting a great deal.Nintendo Switch OLED$300$35014% off$300Nintendo’s hybrid console still has plenty of staying power, especially with this year…
