Ubisoft has revealed that Star Wars Outlaws undeperformed its expectations sales-wise, but it does have a plan in place for the next few months that aims to attract more players to the game. As well as putting a release date on Outlaws’ first bit of DLC and a Steam release for it, there are “mutiple title updates” being worked on. This news came at the same time that the publisher announced it’s pushed back the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows from November this year to February, citing “learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release” informing a need for “more time to polish and refine the experience” in its reasoning. To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings In its latest financial update, Ubisoft notes that Outlaws’ “initial sales proved softer than expected”, despite “solid ratings and user scores”.”In response to player feedback,” it continued, “Ubisoft’s development teams are currently fully mobilised to swiftly implement a series of updates to polish and improve the player experience in order to engage a large audience during the holiday season to position Star Wars Outlaws as a strong long-term performer.” A message from our team to you. pic.twitter.com/wFi3I2tqPx— Star Wars Outlaws (@StarWarsOutlaws) September 25, 2024To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settingsIn a message tweeted via the official Star Wars Outlaws account, the game’s developers provided a more in-depth picture of what the game’s next few months will look like, writing: “We’re hard at work creating multiple title updates, which will bring optimisation, gameplay polishing and tweaks, as well as quality of life changes and adjustments to combat and stealth gameplay.”The post went on to pen in a specific release date for Outlaws’ first story DLC, the Wild Card pack starring everyone’s favourite one time Cloudy City resident Lando Calrissian, which’ll be dropping on November 21. After an incredibly long wait, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 finally has its first trailer, and it’s looking like an absolute doozy for fans of the series. It had been starting to look like Sonic 3 was never going to come out, given that it’s out in four months, but Paramount finally dropped a trailer for it today, showing off Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles finally working together as the ever-loveable Team Sonic. And best of all, we finally got our first look at Shadow the Hedgehog in motion – who yes, is in fact voiced by the one and only Keanu Reeves. The film essentially looks to be something of an adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2, though on this occasion Sonic and co are having to team up with Eggman to take on Shadow. Presumably that’ll all change come the end of the film, because Shadow has to hav…

Read moreNetflix has a new alternative history anime on the way, Leviathan, and it has some incredibly strong talent behind it.Animation studio Orange is back with a brand new 3DCG series, Leviathan, an anime that’s actually based on the 2009 novel of the same name written by Scott Westerfield and illustrated by Keither Thompson. Both the series and the book is an alternate history version of World War 1, where the Central Powers, i.e. the German Empire, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria (known as Clankers in the book) use big mechs and war machines, as well as artificially made living creatures designed for battle to fight in war. Read moreIt’s sounding like Dragon Age: The Veilguard is going to be the complete package, as its director has said there aren’t any plans for DLC expansions. There are many things that in the years since gaming has moved to be more internet focused that are generally quite annoying, but I think even now, DLC is one of the highest ranking. What do you mean I have to spend even more money just to play some more story? Alright, let’s ignore for the second that I did exactly that with Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind (and how I also would have bought a Final Mix version of the game, which was also a ridiculous thing for Square Enix to do back in the day), because it’s still a bit of a wet fart when DLC completes a game. Read moreSilent Hill is going to be on most horror fan’s brains for the next month, obviously because of the fact the hotly anticipated remake of the second game in the series is due out in a week’s time. I can’t blame anyone, I’ll be thinking about it too, I love Silent Hill 2 – it’s a classic for good reason, and I’m curious to see what the wider consensus will be of its remake. Will people reflect on the original and think “we didn’t know how good we had it”? Maybe people will say Silent Hill 2 “was always bad, actually.” Me, though, I’ll be over here thinking, “OK, can we stop talking about 2 now and start talking about Silent Hill 4: The Room?”Compared to other fans, I arrived at Silent Hill a bit late, and I did things in the wrong order too. Back in 2020, during the peak of the first lockdow…
